Ravens Rest
Description
Raven's Rest was once the proud ancestral seat of House Cadir, a fortress that held centuries of noble heritage and carefully guarded secrets connected to forbidden powers beyond the Prophet's reach. Now it stands as blackened ruins, consumed by mysterious black fire fourteen years ago in a tragedy that orphaned its sole heir and exposed the extent to which shadow forces had woven themselves into the very foundation of the house. The Night of the Black Fire remains officially an accident, but the truth runs far deeper—the Children of the Sun, led by the dragonborn Trophis, put the building to the torch on orders that allegedly came from within the Castle itself. The flames killed Calum's parents, the Corvine Guard, and most of the household, leaving only Calum and their ambitious aunt Aurelia as survivors. Yet Raven's Rest holds mysteries yet undiscovered: beneath the visible ruins lie crypts and storm-wracked chambers, and deeper still, a hidden palace where an entity of profound power has been imprisoned—a being who crafted the shadow sword Shadefall and who calls out through undead messengers to claim Calum's aid. The ruins represent both literal and metaphorical loss, the place where Calum's old life ended and their cursed existence began. This ancestral home has transformed from a seat of power into a wound that never healed, a reminder of what was taken and a promise of confrontation yet to come. Somewhere within those blackened stones lies the truth of House Cadir's forbidden connections and the answer to why they were targeted for annihilation—truths that Calum must eventually face, whether in search of vengeance, understanding, or merely to confront the patron that has claimed them.
